A stylebook...

On almost every publication the excuse for lack of a current stylebook is: We’re working on it.

Usually, someone has been working on it for years — but there is always something more important to do.

Now you can let us do at least some of the work. Here is a style book, but, unlike printed ones, you are not tied to our style.

This stylebook is available as a basis for you to use rather than as a completed work. It is a PDF file but it is supplied complete with RTF and Text versions and as a PageMaker file.

We published it as a book with disk in 1991 and updated it from a 5.25-inch to 3.5 inch disk in 1995 but it has been out of print for about five years. Now we are making it available free. 

This programme is generally suited for UK-style-English-speaking countries, specifically Australia, but also for the UK, South Africa, Commonwealth countries, etc. It may also be useful for American publications but will need some additional work. 

We suggest you sit down with a print-out of the PDF over a coffee or a beer and pencil in your changes, ready to make them in either the PageMaker or word processor versions.

After printing a few to pass round the office, you can make further changes and print off some final(!) versions, ready to be up-dated whenever needed.
