BISAC Codes are the lists of subjects used, as one example, by many bookstores to decide on which display shelf a book should go. Similarly some library suppliers (jobbers) will use the codes to decide which linraries may be interested in a book. The BISAC list is frequently updated and this is just one of several sources. The subjects often appear without the numbers on the back cover of many books.
